Treasures of the Heart
Realizing World Peace Day by Day
I made a vow to dedicate my life to promoting world peace and realizing sustainable living based on the philosophy of respecting the dignity of life.
We are all fundamentally compassionate beings and all of our lives are interconnected throughout the universe.
We were born to be happy and each of us has a unique mission to make this world to a better place.
I chose dialogues & music as my vehicles to realize world peace.
I will keep challenging myself to expand my life as a human being and to create music that can cultivate our positive and compassionate selves.
Life is the most precious of all treasures and our lives are all equal. We are Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo.
All of the problems that we see in the world are ultimately human in origin and in fact, our society is just a reflection of human hearts collectively. From this standpoint, in order to truly make a peaceful world, we need to first transform our hearts which are the origin of all the human creations.
SGI Nichiren Buddhism teaches that life is the most precious of all treasures and our lives are all equal. To put this philosophy as a foundation of all human activities is urgent in order to realize a lasting peace. Our lives are interconnected through the fundamental consciousness of the universe. SGI Nichiren Buddhism identifies this fundamental consciousness of the universe as the Mystic Law, and the working of the mystic law is unlimited compassion. In short, the mystic law is our life itself. We all are the entity of mystic law. To tap into this mystic law within ourselves, we chant “Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo.”
Nichiren Daishonin ( The founder of Nichiren Buddhism ) states “Myō is the name given to the mystic nature of life, and hō, to its manifestations. Renge, which means lotus flower, is used to symbolize the wonder of this Law. If we understand that our life at this moment is myō, then we will also understand that our life at other moments is the Mystic Law. This realization is the mystic kyō, or sutra.” (On Attaining Buddhahood in This Lifetime P.4) (https://www.nichirenlibrary.org)
By adding “Nam” which means devotion, when we chant, we declarer to ourselves that “I devote myself to realize that I am the entity of mystic law.” As we chant Nam Myo Ho Renge Kyo, we can synchronize with the deepest consciousness within our own lives and therefore, transform our karma and reveal our true compassionate nature.
Embracing the philosophy of respecting the dignity of lives no matter what and practicing SGI Nichiren Buddhism are the surest path for humanity to restore compassion and to live in harmony with different cultures and ethnicities, and nature.
SGI Nichiren Buddhism
The purpose of SGI Nichiren Buddhism is to enable every single person to become absolutely happy without exception. Absolute happiness is to establish a life condition which is filled with unlimited courage, wisdoms and compassion. It is an unshakable life state that can overcome any hardships in life and can create values from any situations. We chant Nam myo ho ren ge kyo to tap into this limitless life state called buddha nature.
(Nam-devotion /Myoho- mystic law/ Renge -cause and effect / Kyo-realization )
The Soka Gakkai International (SGI) is a grass-roots Buddhist organization with 12 million practitioners in 192 countries and territories. Based on the Buddhist belief that all people equally possess Buddhahood, we have no priests or clergy. Rather we practice Buddhism as equals, encouraging one another to overcome life’s difficulties based on Buddhist principles while striving for our dreams and the peace of our communities.
My mentor, Daisaku Ikeda ( the president of SGI) states, “When we change, the world changes. The key to all change is in our inner transformation—a change of our hearts and minds. This is human revolution.”

SGDs are a universal call set by the United Nations for us to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that we all enjoy peace and prosperity.
SGDs are a collection of 17 global goals. The broad goals are interrelated though each goal has its own targets to achieve and there are 169 targets in total (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdgs)
Based on the interconnectivity of our lives, no one can live alone without any support from others. This is our ultimate reality. Therefore, it is everybody’s responsibility to take actions to solve various problems that we are facing in the world today. To set the momentum for us to work together towards sustainable future, SDGs serves as our practical common goals.
SDGs embodies the humanistic spirit of “Not creating happiness based on somebody’s unhappiness” and “ Not allowing to pass our planet on to future generation while the planet remains heavily damaged by human activities.”
We are all fundamentally compassionate beings and all of our lives are interconnected throughout the universe. We were born to be happy and each of us has a unique mission to make this world a better place. I really hope that you also strive hard to make this world a better place by using your own unique character and talent.
